AYA works to develop and deliver ethnic specific and culturally sensitive projects for young people in need through social or economic circumstances, and is looking for fundraising volunteers to help raise funds for its current and future projects.

The work will cover the spectrum of fundraising opportunities, from fundraising from trusts and the corporate sector, to events fundraising and campaigning.

The work will be an opportunity to learn key fundraising skills including researching potential funding prospects, tailoring letters and appeals, and identifying and exploring alternative sources of support. Internal training will be provided.

You must - have excellent written and verbal communication skills - have excellent research skills (both book and internet based) - have excellent organisational skills - be available for at least one day per week (Mon-Fri) for a minimum of 12 weeks - be self motivated - be interested in youth work, British Asian culture and/or British Islamic heritage.

AYA's office is based in Croydon (10 minutes walk from East or West Croydon over land stations). However, most of this work will be done from home, with phone and email support, so you will need home access to a computer and the internet.
